Scan Day

Scan day is here and I find myself feeling incredibly THANKFUL.  Thankful for the technology that, heaven forbid this cancer comes back, will hopefully catch it early enough that we can beat the crap out of it quickly.  Thankful that the day to get results is almost here, so that we can get the result of NED and go on with our beautiful life, enjoying our family, our friends and the Holidays that are upon us.  Thankful that Tim is healthy and has been feeling good and been enjoying life.  Thankful for the people that we meet along this sad, terrible Cancer road….  today, we met a beautiful, strong young Lady.  Her name is Katie…

Katie at age 14, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rhabdomyasarcoma in November 2011.  The day prior to Katie’s diagnosis, her cousin, Mareesa, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma.  Katie’s Mother Lisa (Mareesa’s Aunt) is a mountain of strength, hope and inspiration.  I could feel such a sense of strength when I hugged Lisa this morning as we were leaving the Hospital.  She and her daughter are a gift.  They are a gift from God.  They are a message to me…a message and a sign of Hope, of Strength, of Determination.  Look at the beautiful, amazing people that we get to meet because we got dealt this Cancer card.  Today, I am feeling incredibly thankful all the way around.

Alright so tomorrow is our Results appointment…  just a little over 24 hours away!!!!  We are scheduled to see the Doctor @ 1pm, but hey – you all know how that goes.  Don’t expect to see an update from me before 3pm, okay?  I don’t want any of you getting worried or nervous.

Tonight I will try to get a good night’s sleep…  I am hoping Tim will as well.  I want to go in to tomorrow afternoon with lots of energy to do a Happy Dance and CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am starting to get all teary eyed just thinking about it…  It just must be.

Oh yeah, and Mackenzie (again) informed us last night that Daddy looks so good and is feeling so good that of course his results will be great.  Skyler, she remains pretty silent about it all…  love those babes so very, very deeply.  Say a prayer for peace for them both tomorrow.  Thanks.

(and it if you can squeeze it in, say a prayer for Katie, she should get her scan results some time today…  thanks!)

Remember, you are here for a reason…  and if you Give Good, You Get Good.  Live by the words.

XOXO, Denise
